About Settle Valencia

Most of what you read online about moving to Valencia was written to rank on Google or to sell you a service. Nobody checked it, and nobody has updated it in years. Settle Valencia exists to change that. Every fee, deadline and rule is checked at the official Spanish source, checked again by a second reviewer and dated. Found a mistake? Write to hello@settlevalencia.com.

The problem. Search for help with a move to Spain and you tend to find three things. Guides that never show the official text, so you cannot see where a rule comes from. Guides written to rank or to sell, which nobody checks afterwards. And guides that sit unchanged for years while the rule moves on.

Who checks the guides

Vincent Nguyen is the editor. He is an overseas Vietnamese who lives in Valencia. He is responsible for every guide and signs it off together with the editorial team. Every fee, deadline and condition is quoted from the Spanish original (the BOE, the DOGV or an official sede electrónica) and translated into English by the editorial team. The translation is never presented as an official text. Guides are built from official texts, not from personal anecdotes.

How every guide is checked

  • Every fee, deadline, form and rule in a guide is quoted from a source in the Spanish original, with the exact wording kept on file.
  • Legal facts rest on the Spanish legal text (BOE, DOGV) or an official sede; agency and forum pages are never the basis for a rule.
  • Each guide shows when it was last verified and what could not be confirmed.

Before a guide goes live it also passes five more steps. (1) An automated gate confirms that every number and condition appears in its quoted source. It stops the guide if a legal claim rests only on press or agency pages, or a cited law is out of date. (2) A scope review checks that each rule applies to the right people. (3) A second review reads the guide sentence by sentence against the quotes and cuts what the source does not say. (4) The live site is read from your point of view, and whatever trips readers up is fixed. (5) Each guide carries a review month and is checked again on schedule, with the new “Verified” date shown. AI models do the research, drafting and much of the review. The editorial team reviews and approves every guide before it goes live. The full process, including where AI is used, is on how guides are checked.

What {site} does not do

No figure without a quote from its source: if no source says it in so many words, the sentence is cut rather than softened. Where offices answer differently, the guide says so instead of guessing. No payment changes a fact, a ranking or the source behind a fact (see affiliate links and paid listings). And no legal advice: the guides are general information. Rules and office practice in Spain change, and the Comunitat Valenciana and the city can add their own rules, sometimes faster than official pages. Before you act on something with real consequences, confirm it with the office concerned or a licensed adviser.
